Leo Maher, EA, MSA
Business Owner
Leo has a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts and over 14 years of experience in accounting, tax and bookkeeping. As an Enrolled Agent, he is a federally licensed tax practitioner who specializes in all areas of taxation and can represent taxpayers to the IRS anywhere in the country.
Leo is a U.S. Air Force veteran of 20 years. He moved home to commercial fish and raise his family on Cape Cod. After building a foundation working with local accounting firms, Leo opened his own practice in Chatham to provide exceptional personalized service to the local community. Some of his specialties include S Corps, small businesses, and rental properties. He delivers personalized expertise and attention to each client he accepts.
Hunter Maher, MSA
Senior Tax Preparer
Hunter has his bachelor’s degree in corporate finance and accounting and a master’s degree in accounting from Bentley University. For the last 8 years he has honed his experience working with one of the big four accounting firms, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), on their specialized tax services team focusing on research and development tax credits and depreciation studies for corporate clients. He broadened his experience working in the private sector as a Senior Financial Analyst for a rapidly expanding manufacturing company on the operations finance team.
Hunter grew up on Cape Cod, commercial fishing and working in the restaurant industry. He joined Leo Maher Accounting in 2025 and is actively pursuing his Enrolled Agent certification. He provides exceptional customer experience, business strategy expertise and problem-solving skills.
Tracy Maher
Office Manager / Bookkeeper
Tracy provides administrative support, bookkeeping services, and excellent client management services for Leo Maher Accounting. She joined the practice in 2025 after retiring from her position with the Commonwealth of MA. In her prior career, Tracy managed a 70-million-dollar budget and was responsible for oversight of the contracts and service delivery for 1,500 families across the Cape. She is excited to work with her family and local community in a new capacity.
